Aviva fulfils its sustainable resolutions for 2010
Aviva Stadium Dublin, part of Lime Venue Portfolio, has achieved the first stage in BS8901 accreditation leading it one step closer to being Ireland's most environmentally responsible event space.
The iconic Dublin landmark has been accredited with the definitive benchmark for sustainable events: BS8901, a standard associated with sustainability for meetings, conference and events. Venues are first accredited and then work towards full certification; it is anticipated that the venue will achieve its full certification shortly after opening on May 14, 2010.
The stadium has been conceived and constructed to ensure its environmental footprint is intrinsic to both the build process and the longer term daily operation of the conference, meeting and live event facilities.
Aviva Stadium is the first Irish venue to adhere to the standard and in order to achieve the recognition it has undertaken to operate within the BS8901 management system which enhances performance in three key areas: social, economic and environmental impact in both the local and wider communities.
